![]() I ended up buying a Pearce extender for $10 - 12 which I like more than the original Glock extender, it has the little dimples all over it where the OEM one is smooth. The Glock 26 is one of the shortest 9mm handguns on the market. I'm not big, my hands are not big, but without the extender I find it a bit too small with my pinky hanging almost completely off the bottom of the mag. The Springfield XDE is a little bigger than the Springfield XDS. Maybe they're thinking offer the choice of extender or not depending on hand and holster / container size. Both pistols use double stack magazine columns to increase available ammunition and have a width of 1.2. For a few extra dollars, Glock should have just supplied both mags with the extenders. The XD weighs 26 ounces with an unloaded magazine, while the Glock weighs 23.63 ounces. Other than being limited to 6+1 (I prefer my 15+1 and 2 spare 15s on the other side of my belt) I like the 43, with a pinky extender added. ![]() She's been having a bit of trouble with the sights for some reason - I have no trouble at all, yet she has no problems with my 19 or a Ruger SR22 that she is generally better with than I am. To add to your confusion, both guns shoot very well. Of course, when the G43 did rear its little head, one came into my hands. I purchased the XDs 4.0 9mm just before the Glock G43 came out. She said no, she liked my 19 and wanted the 43 so that's what I got her. Since I own both of these pistols, perhaps I can offer something of value. Given your preference for the glock 19 you would likely be more familiar and comfortable with the glock 26 out of the box, but do not believe that it is in any way, a better firearm and the springfield XD or XDM line.I carry a Glock 19 (Gen3), I offered my wife a Springfield, Ruger, Glock 43 and suggested we go try some for fit. Loaded with features from top to bottom, the XD-S Mod.2 is a slim single stack pistol. I have, shoot and carry Glock 26 often and its a joy to shoot. Cons - Price, different brand, weighs the heaviest. Pros- Looks awesome, I loved shooting it, 9mm so dont have to buy. 6.26 in: 4.25 in: 1.06 in: 17.95 oz: Details. Dont know weight but its probably around 15oz loaded (my guesS) Probably around 24oz loaded. Now if you are also looking at the XDS in 9mm, then I may be persuaded to the XDS 9mm. Compare the dimensions and specs of Springfield XD-S MOD.2 9mm and Glock G43. However, your question G26 or XDS in 45, well I would go G26. I have never needed an extractor or any other warranty work, and although they do not specify a lifetime warranty, the few cases I have heard of factory defects were taken care of by springfield. A G30S will conceal as well as a 19 and with a 9rds mag as well as a 26. heavily recommend tulster holsters if you like clamshell IWB holsters for that task. I have never had a problem finding a good holster for any of them. I have carried springfields exclusively ever since I retired my Ruger SR9c from that position about 5 years ago. If I was a newt, I’d buy Wayne a Springfield XD-M. The focus of our shooting time was on six main contenders: the Springfield Armory XD-S 3.3, the Beretta Nano, Smith and Wesson’s M&P Shield 9, the Walther PPS, the Sig Sauer P938 that I reviewed last month, and the Ruger LC9. ![]() We’ve put a call into Springfield, and not about their grammar. Here is a video review from nutnfancy on the XD9 but not the compact XD9 Springfield XD9: Good Glock Alternative. The XD is a good pistol but its just a Glock copy imo with more 'features' add to it. One is its much simpler and not a lot to it. you probably couldn't go wrong with either choice as both are reliable and accurate pieces, considering the size. Hang on Springfield’s sales literature claims that the XD-M has the shortest travel than any currently available polymer pistol along with a similarly short reset. I like the Glock 19 much more for a few reasons. I personally have never liked gwocks, but I have have heavily enjoyed the springfield lineups. ![]()
